Computer Question:	MY computer reboots when I shut it down. What should I do?
Response:	try this: 1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. 2. Click the Advanced tab. 3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box. 4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times. 5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

My parents have managed to make everything on their desktop disappear. How do I get everything back for them?

Response:

Step1 Click it without a ticket. To restore lost desktop icons, first place your mouse anywhere in a blank area on your desktop. Once you have placed your cursor in an unused area of the desktop, right click. Step2 Check the pop up. Once you have right-clicked your mouse in the unused area of your desktop you will receive a pop up menu or prompt. Choose "Properties" by left clicking it with your mouse. Step3 Grab that tab. Once you have clicked on "Properties" you will receive a dialog box. Click on the tab labeled "Desktop." Step4 Customize it. Once you have clicked the "Desktop" tab choose "Customize Desktop" which will prompt another dialog box to open. From there click on the "General" tab. Step5 Restore order. After you have clicked the "General" tab you will see a list of icons. Simply choose the icons you want restored or placed on the desktop and then click "OK." That's it. You have now successfully restored your desktop icons.

Hi James. My computer is very slow. It is ADSL quick version through Telus? Any suggestions.

It would be good if your computer was Penthium 166 MHz or higher. If you want to check what speed your computer is. Click on start menu and then click on run. enter dxdiag and you will find out. Telus has high speed lite which downloads at 256 Kbps. High Speed enhanced which downloads at 3.0 Mbps which is faster. Or you could get High Speed extreme which downloads at 6.0 Mbps which is even quicker. You could choose between any of these adsl services

A. Never reveal your name, address, phone number, city or province/state you live in. B. Never reveal the name of the school you attend. C. Stay out of adult chat rooms. D. Never order anything online without a parent or guardians permission. E. Never fill out an online form without a parent or guardians permission. F. Always let a parent or guardian check a website for adult content before going there yourself. G. Always tell a parent or guardian if you feel you've been approached by a person in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable. H. Never, ever agree to an in person meeting with someone you've met online without a parent or guardian going with you. I. Never send your photograph through email. J. Never open an attachment to an email before your parent or guardian has a chance to check it first. K. People aren't always who they appear to be. Someone may claim to be your friend when, in reality, they're trying to lure you in to doing something you may later regret. L. Report anything you feel is suspicious to your parent or guardian. Let them determine if it should be reported to the authorities. M. Just because you've been told your online friend is the same age as you doesn't make it so. There are adults out there who will tell you anything to gain your confidence. N. While online it's always a good idea to use a nickname rather than your real name. O. Never place your photo or personal information on a web site. U. If someone asks you for personal information, refuse to give it and let your parent or guardian know immediately. V. If you accidently stumble on to a questionable web site, let your parent or guardian know so it can be reported to the proper authorities. W. Follow the guidelines your parent or guardian has set for you. Remember, they've set these guidelines because they care. X. Encourage your parent or guardian to use blocking software to make surfing the web safer for you. Y. Trust your instincts. If it feels wrong then it probably is. Z. Computer Question:	My Internet isn't working. My computer says I have a dns error. Do I need a new Interface Card? James Graham
Response:	Hi, go to tools, internet options,security,custom level,go down the list "enabling" & setting browse level. set to medium. find the option that that says "access data across domains" check the enable option. Come out of all that and apply changes, some require a restart.
